THE ELEVENTH HOLE
Quite possibly the hardest hole in the Waikato, the Eleventh at Cambridge is renowned for being a true test of shot-making ability. The entire hole is bordered on the left by a steep bank that leads to the Waikato river. Off the tee, keeping right is a good idea, but this strategy will leave you with a very long approach shot. Out-of-bounds runs just off the left of the green and on the right is a tough little bunker which you must hit directly towards the river from.
Tip: Many members play this hole as a par 5 - often even a very good player will layup to the green. Particularly if the pin is placed back right.
